PNP RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Recruitment Management

Under the Civil Service Commission, each department and agency shall evolve its own screening process, which may include tests or fitness, in accordance with standards and guidelines set.

In order to insure the quality of personnel entering the police service and strengthen the foundation of the police professionalization, a standard procedure for recruitment and selection of PNP uniformed personnel is hereby established:

General Qualification for Appointment

No person shall be appointed as non-officer of the PNP unless he/she possesses the following minimum qualifications:

  • A citizen of the Philippines;
  • A person of good moral conduct;
  • Must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical tests to be admitted by the PNP or by any NAPOLCOM accredited government hospital for the purpose of determining physical and mental health;
  • Must possess a formal baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution of learning;
  • Must be eligible in accordance with the standards set by NAPOLCOM;
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged from military employment or dismissed for cause from any civilian position in the government;
  • Must not have convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
  • Must be at least one meter and sixty-two centimeters (1.62 m.) in height for male and one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57 m.) for female;
  • Must weigh not more or less than five kilograms (5 kgs.) from the standard weight corresponding to his or her height, age, and sex; and
  • For a new applicant, must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than thirty (30) years of age: except for the last qualification, the above-enumerated qualifications shall be continuing in character and an absence of any one of them at any given time shall be a ground for separation or retirement from the service: Provided, That PNP members who are already in the service upon the effectivity of RA 8551 shall be given at least two (2) years to obtain the minimum education qualification and one (1) year to satisfy the weight requirement.

An individual can also be issued temporary appointment if he met all the above requirements except for the enumerated eligibility as long as he possess a Civil Service Sub-Professional Eligibility. However, temporary appointment must be renewed within one year, if not; his services will be automatically terminated.

  • Personal Data Sheet (CS form 212, Revised August 1998)
  • Colored Picture (2 Whole Body ad  2 Bust Picture)
  • Background Investigation Result
  • CSC Eligibility
  • Transcript of Records & Diploma
  • NBI Clearance
  • NP Clearance & Physical Evaluation Report
  • Certificate of Employment/Experience and Training

All documents submitted must be authenticated by appropriate authorities. Waivers for age, height, weight and education is also allowed as provided for under RA 8551.
